About Kontek

Kontek is a software company delivering cloud-based payroll solutions and is part of the Visma group. With around 150 employees, Kontek has helped thousands of companies and organisations streamline their payroll operations.

Beyond software, Kontek also offers outsourcing, support, and consulting, providing customers with a complete solution for the entire payroll process. With deep domain expertise and a growing SaaS offering, Kontek made a deliberate decision to leave its legacy subscription management setup behind and build for the future.

The Challenge

For years, Kontek relied on a legacy system that the organisation had built extensive customisations on top of for over 15 years. While it served its purpose at the time, as Kontek evolved into a modern SaaS business, it became clear that the setup was holding them back.

The core issues were:
