Stay Compliant Across Markets
Younium calculates VAT and other taxes automatically from your configured rules, generates locally compliant invoices, and maintains a complete audit trail, globally.
Tax handled automatically. Invoices always compliant.
Compliance is two distinct layers; charging the right tax on every invoice, and transmitting each invoice in the structured format the authority requires.
Younium covers both: configure once, and both run automatically at every invoicing event.
Automatic tax calculation
European VAT runs from configurable tax templates (Domestic, Export, EU); US sales tax complexity is handled through tax connectors like Avalara — including tax-on-tax for stacked VAT and surcharges.
E-invoicing mandates
Meet country e-invoicing laws through partner integrations — Germany's ZUGFeRD / XRechnung, France's accredited platforms, Poland's KSeF, Italy's SDI — and stay ahead of EU-wide VIDA.
Periodic EU tax reports
Generate EU tax reports listing invoices by tax category with customer details and amounts, exportable as Excel or CSV for regulatory submission.
Full audit trail
Every invoice, credit note, and tax calculation is logged with complete traceability, linked back to the original contract and billing event.
Compliant where you do business
From US revenue standards to EU e-invoicing mandates, Younium keeps invoicing, tax, and revenue locally compliant across every market you operate in.
Tell us which markets you operate in
We'll show you exactly how Younium handles compliance there — before you go live.
From tax rule to compliant invoice — automatically
Set up your tax logic once. Younium applies it at every invoicing event and keeps the records regulators ask for, so compliance is built into billing, not handled separately.
Configure tax templates
Define tax categories and templates per market, including sequential tax-on-tax for stacked VAT and surcharges. Set up once, reuse everywhere.
Apply at every invoice
At each invoicing event, Younium calculates the right tax and generates an invoice in the format the market requires .
Report & audit
Export periodic tax reports by category for filing, and trace any number back to its contract and billing event with a complete audit trail.
Submitting invoices in the format each government requires
A separate layer from tax calculation, not the rate on the invoice, but how the invoice itself must be transmitted to tax authorities or structured buyers. It's driven by VIDA (VAT in the Digital Age) and country-specific e-invoicing laws.
E-invoicing integrations (via partners like Invopop, Maventa, and Apix) ensure invoices are transmitted in the right structured format to the right authority or platform, per country.

Invoicing & tax compliance FAQs
How does Younium determine which tax rate to apply?
Tax is calculated from tax templates configured in Younium — linked to country of operations and customer type. Templates are managed under Settings › Accounts Receivable › Tax categories and Templates.
Does Younium support tax-on-tax scenarios?
Yes. Younium supports two sequential taxes on a single charge — for example, a base VAT followed by a percentage surcharge on the already-taxed amount — using the Tax 1 / Tax 2 configuration.
What e-invoicing standards does Younium support?
Younium supports ZUGFeRD for German e-invoicing compliance — embedding structured XML in PDF invoices with all mandatory fields: seller and buyer details, VAT numbers, invoice numbers, payment info, and line item tax data.
How does Younium handle credit notes and corrections?
Credit and correction invoices are generated with proper referencing back to the original invoice — maintaining a compliant, traceable audit trail for every adjustment.
Can invoice templates be customised per entity or market?
Yes. Invoice templates are customizable with your company logo and styling, and can include the fields required for each jurisdiction — with unique invoice number sequences per entity.
